Israel is a vine with choice branches, her fruit is abundant: according to the multitude of her fruits she has multiplied [her] altars; according to the wealth of his land, he has set up pillars.

lest when you have eaten and are full, and have built nice houses, and dwelt in them;

[that] you should be exalted in your heart, and forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage;

He brought them up on the strength of the land; He fed them with the fruits of the fields; they sucked honey out of the rock, and oil out of the solid rock.

So Jacob ate and was filled, and the beloved one kicked; he grew fat, he became thick and broad: then he forsook the God that made him, and departed from God his Savior.

And they took lofty cities, and inherited houses full of all good things, wells [already] dug, vineyards and olive yards, and every fruit tree in abundance. So they ate, and were filled, and grew fat, and delighted themselves in Your great goodness.

But they turned, and revolted from You, and cast Your law behind their backs; and they killed Your prophets, who testified against them to turn them back to You, and they worked great provocations.

And they did not serve You in Your kingdom, and in Your great goodness which You gave to them, and in the large and fat land which You furnished before them, and they turned not from their evil devices.

Therefore hear the word of the Lord: thus says the Lord, Have I been a wilderness or a dry land to Israel? Why have My people said, We will not be ruled over, and will not come to You anymore?

They have made kings for themselves, but not by Me: they have ruled, but they did not make it known to Me: [of] their silver and their gold they have made images to themselves, that they might be destroyed.

And it shall come to pass, when the Lord your God has brought you into the land which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, and to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you great and beautiful cities which you did not build,

beware lest you forget the Lord your God that brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

You have forsaken God that begot you, and forgotten God who feeds you.

The sinner has provoked the Lord: according to the abundance of his pride he will not seek after [Him]; God is not before him.

Because you have forsaken God your Savior, and have not been mindful of the Lord your Helper; therefore shall you plant a false plant, and a false seed.

Will a bride forget her attire, or a virgin her ornaments? But My people have forgotten Me days without number!
