how great and mighty [they are]; His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His power to all generations.

And at the end of the time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised Him that lives forever, and gave [Him] glory; for His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom [lasts] to all generations.

They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of iron, and of wood, and of stone.

And you have exalted yourself against the Lord God of heaven; and they have brought before you the vessels of His house, and you, your nobles, your mistresses, and your concubines have drunk wine out of them; and you have praised the gods of gold, silver, brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, and which hear not, and know not: and the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's [own] possession, that you may proclaim the excellent virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

who formerly [were] not a people but now [are the] people of God, who had not received mercy, but now have received mercy.

And you have exalted yourself against the Lord God of heaven; and they have brought before you the vessels of His house, and you, your nobles, your mistresses, and your concubines have drunk wine out of them; and you have praised the gods of gold, silver, brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, and which hear not, and know not: and the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified.

At that time Jesus answered and said, "I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them to babes.

The God who made the world and all the things in it, Him being Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in sanctuaries made by human hands,

[As for God], His works [are] true, and all His ways [are] judgment: God [is] faithful, and there is no unrighteousness [in Him]; just and holy [is] the Lord.

Boast not, and utter not high things; let not high sounding words come out of your mouth, for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and God prepares His own designs.

For the word of the Lord is right; and all His works are faithful.

He loves mercy and judgment; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.

And the king's honor loves judgment; You have prepared equity, You have established judgment and justice in Jacob.

I know, O Lord, that Your judgments are righteousness, and [that] You in truthfulness have afflicted me.

The Lord is righteous in all His ways, and holy in all His works.

The Lord is near to all that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth.

But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and the holy God shall be glorified in righteousness.

And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: "Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Righteous and true are Your ways, O King of the nations!

And I heard the altar saying, "Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous [are] Your judgments."

After these things I heard as [it were] a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God!

For true and righteous are His judgments, for He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged the blood of His servants [shed] by her hand."

the king answered and said, Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for a royal residence, by the might of my power, for the honor of my glory?

While the word was yet in the king's mouth, there came a voice from heaven, [saying], King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken, The kingdom has departed from you.

But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was emboldened to act proudly, he was deposed from his royal throne, and [his] honor was taken from him.

And you accordingly, his son, O Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart before God: do you not know all this?

Therefore from His presence has been sent forth the finger of a hand, and He has ordered the writing.

For now I know that the Lord is great above all gods, because of this, wherein they attacked them.

And the Lord brought upon them the captains of the armies of the king of Assyria, and they took Manasseh in bonds, and bound him in fetters, and brought him to Babylon.

And when he was afflicted, he sought the face of the Lord his God, and was greatly humbled before the face of the God of his fathers;

behold, [they are] in the account of his prayer. And [God] hearkened to him. And all his sins, and his backslidings, and the spots on which he built the high places, and set there groves and graven images, before he repented, behold, they are written in the books of the seers.

[ 40:6] And send forth messengers with wrath, and lay low every haughty one.

[ 40:7] Bring down also the proud man, and consume at once the ungodly.

And surely your sister Sodom was not mentioned by your mouth in the days of your pride;

that you may remember, and be ashamed, and may no more be able to open your mouth for your shame, when I am reconciled to you for all that you have done, says the Lord.

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Likewise, younger [people], subject yourselves to [the] elders. And all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility, because "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
