And I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, a man clothed in linen, and his loins were girt with gold of Ophaz.

And his body was like beryl, and his face was as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his legs as the appearance of shining brass, and the voice of his words as the voice of a multitude.

And there touched me again as it were the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,

And it came to pass, as I, Daniel, saw the vision, and sought to understand it, that behold, there stood before me [one] having the appearance of a man.

yes, while I was yet speaking in prayer, behold the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, [came] flying, and he touched me about the hour of the evening sacrifice.

that was over their head, there was as the appearance of a sapphire stone, [and] the likeness of a throne upon it. And upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as an appearance of a man above.

but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming to be in the likeness of men.

And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself, becoming obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

and in the midst of the seven lampstands [stood One] like [the] Son of Man, having been clothed in a [robe] reaching to [His] feet and having been girded across [His] chest with a golden belt.

And behold, a hand touched me, and it raised me on my knees.

and he touched my mouth and said, Behold, this has touched your lips, and will take away your iniquities, and will purge off your sins.

And the Lord stretched forth His hand to me, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me, Behold, I have put My words into your mouth.

But when I speak to you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord: He that hears, let him hear; and he that is disobedient, let him be disobedient; for they are a provoking house.

Now the hand of the Lord had come upon me in the evening, before he came; and He opened my mouth, when he came to me in the morning. And my mouth was open, it was no longer kept closed.

Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue loosed, and he started to speak, praising God.

for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict nor to withstand.

And how shall your servant be able, O [my] lord, to speak with this my lord? And as for me, from now on strength will not remain in me, and there is no breath left in me.

And I heard, but I understood not. And I said, O Lord, what [will be] the end of these things?

And Moses said to the Lord, I pray, Lord, I have not been sufficient in former times, neither from the time that You have begun to speak to Your servant: I am weak in speech, and slow-tongued.

And Moses said, O Lord, I pray, appoint another able person whom You shall send.

And He said to him, I have now come, the Commander of the army of the Lord. And Joshua fell on his face upon the earth, and said to Him, O Lord, what do You command Your servant?

And Gideon said to him, Be gracious with me, my Lord: but if the Lord is with us, why have these evils found us? And where are all His miracles, which our fathers have related to us, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt? And now He has cast us out, and given us into the hand of Midian.

And Gideon said to him, [Be gracious] with me, my Lord: how shall I save Israel? Behold, my thousand is weakened in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.

And Manoah prayed to the Lord and said, I pray to You, O Lord my lord, [concerning] the Man of God whom You sent; let Him now come to us once more, and teach us what we shall do with the child about to be born.

And Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"

So I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there was no strength left in me, and my glory was turned into corruption, and I retained no strength.

Yet I heard the voice of his words; and when I heard him I was cut [to the heart], and [I fell with] my face to the earth.

[As for] me, Daniel, my spirit in my body trembled, and the visions of my head troubled me.

This is the end of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts greatly troubled me, and my countenance was changed: but I kept the matter in my heart.

And he came and stood near where I stood. And when he came, I was struck with awe, and fell upon my face. But he said to me, Understand, son of man, for the vision is yet for an appointed time.

And I, Daniel, fell asleep, and was sick. Then I arose, and did the king's business; and I was astonished by the vision, and there was none that understood [it].

For in the abundance of wisdom is abundance of knowledge; and he that increases knowledge will increase sorrow.
