And you shall say to the provoking house, to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: Let it suffice you [to have committed] all your iniquities, O house of Israel!

For we have spent enough of our past lifetime to accomplish the will of the Gentiles--having walked in wantonness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.

Both my brothers, and my acquaintances, and I, have lent them money and grain. Let us now leave off this usury!

How long will you judge unrighteously, and accept the persons of sinners? Pause.

Rescue the needy, and deliver the poor out of the hand of the sinner.

learn to do well; diligently seek judgment, deliver him that is suffering wrong, plead for the orphan, and obtain justice for the widow.

Thus says the Lord: Execute judgment and justice, and rescue the spoiled out of the hand of him that wrongs him; and oppress not the stranger, the orphan, or widow, and sin not, and shed no innocent blood in this place.

These are the things which you shall do: speak truth everyone with his neighbor; judge truth and peaceable judgment in your gates:

Likewise the soldiers also were asking him, saying, "And what shall we do?" So he said to them, "Do not intimidate anyone or accuse [anyone] falsely, and be content with your wages."

from the bottom at the commencement of the hollow part to this great mercy seat, from beneath was two cubits, and the breadth was a cubit; and from the little mercy seat to the great mercy seat [there were] four cubits, and the breadth was a cubit.

And the altar [shall be] of the length of twelve cubits, by twelve cubits [in breadth], square upon its four sides.

And the cry of the people and their wives [was] great against their brothers the Jews.

And some said, [As to] our fields and vineyards and houses, let us pledge [them], and we will take grain, and eat.

And now our flesh [is] as the flesh of our brothers, our children [are] as their children. Yet behold, we are reducing our sons and our daughters to slavery, and some of our daughters are enslaved; and there is no power of our hands, for our fields and our vineyards [belong] to the nobles.

And my heart took counsel within me, and I contended against the nobles, and the princes, and I said to them, Should every man demand of his brother what you demand? And I appointed against them a great assembly,

And I said, The thing which you do is not good; you will not so walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the Gentiles our enemies.

Restore to them, I pray, as at this day, their fields, and their vineyards, and their olive yards, and their houses, and bring forth to them grain and wine and oil of the money.

And I shook out my garment, and said, So may God shake out every man who shall not keep to this word, from his house, and from his labors, he shall be even thus shaken out, as an outcast and empty. And all the congregation said, Amen, and they praised the Lord; and the people did this thing.

Actually then, it is already a defeat for you that you have lawsuits against one another. Why not rather accept wrong? Why not rather accept being defrauded?

But you wrong and defraud, and these things [to your] brothers!

For he has broken down the houses of many mighty men, and he has plundered a house, though he built it not.

But you have sent widows away empty, and have afflicted orphans.

while the ungodly have passed over the bound, carrying off the flock with the shepherd?

They have turned aside the weak from the right way, and the meek of the earth have hidden themselves together.

They have reaped a field that was not their own before the time; the poor have labored in the vineyards of the ungodly without pay and without food.

They are wet with the drops of the mountains; they have embraced the rock, because they had no shelter.

And they have wrongfully caused [others] to sleep without clothing, and taken away the morsel of the hungry.

Who have cast forth the poor from the city and their own houses, and the soul of the children has groaned aloud.

They meditated troubles, and wrought wickedness on their beds, and they put it in execution with the daylight; for they have not lifted up their hands to God.

And they desired fields, and plundered orphans, and oppressed families, and spoiled a man and his house, even a man and his inheritance.

The leaders of My people shall be cast forth from their luxurious houses; they are rejected because of their evil practices; draw near to the everlasting mountains.
