And He said to me, Son of Man, eat this volume, and go and speak to the children of Israel.

your mouth shall eat, and your belly shall be filled with this volume that is given to you. So I ate it; and it was in my mouth as sweet as honey.

And you, son of man, hear Him that speaks to you; be not provoking, as the provoking house: open your mouth, and eat what I give you.

And receive a declaration from His mouth, and lay up His words in your heart.

I have hidden Your oracles in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

Receive instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.

Hear, son, the instruction of your father, that you may be wise in your latter days.

But that which fell on the good ground, these are such who when they heard the word, with a noble and good heart, hold on to it and bear fruit with endurance.

Because of this we also give thanks to God unceasingly, so that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you received not the word of men, but just as it truly is, the word of God, which also is at work in you who believe.

Finally then, brothers, we request of you and exhort [you] in the Lord Jesus, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, that you should abound more.
