And you, son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord: Because your heart has been exalted, and you have said, I am God, I have inhabited the dwelling of God in the heart of the sea; yet you are a man and not God, though you have set your heart as the heart of God.

Moreover do you take up a lamentation for the prince of Israel,

And fire has gone out of a rod of her choice [boughs,] and has devoured her; and there was no rod of strength in her. Her race has become a parable of lamentation, and it shall be for a lamentation.

And they shall take up a lamentation for you, and shall say to you, How are you destroyed from out of the sea, O renowned city, that brought her terror upon all her inhabitants!

And you, son of man, take up a lamentation against Tyre;

And their sons shall take up a [lament] for you, even a lamentation for Tyre, [saying],

Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him: You have become like a lion among the nations, and as a serpent that is in the sea; and you made assaults with your rivers, and troubled the waters with your feet, and trampled your rivers.

There is a lamentation, and you shall utter it; and the daughters of the nations shall utter it, [even] for Egypt, and they shall mourn for it over all the strength thereof, says the Lord God.

And Jeremiah mourned over Josiah, and all the chief men and chief women uttered a lamentation over Josiah until this day. And they made it an ordinance for Israel, and behold, it is written in the lamentations.

And you shall take up this lamentation against the king of Babylon, How has the extortioner ceased, and the taskmaster ceased!

Thus says the Lord, Call the mourning women, and let them come; and send to the wise women, and let them utter their voice;

For a voice of lamentation has been heard in Zion, How we have become wretched! We are greatly ashamed, for we have forsaken the land, and have abandoned our tabernacles!

And you, son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord: Because your heart has been exalted, and you have said, I am God, I have inhabited the dwelling of God in the heart of the sea; yet you are a man and not God, though you have set your heart as the heart of God.

Have you gained power for yourself by your [own] knowledge or your [own] prudence, and [gathered] gold and silver in your treasures?

and you shall say to Tyre that dwells at the entrance of the sea, to the merchant of the nations coming from many islands, Thus says the Lord to Tyre: You have said, I have clothed myself with my beauty.

In the heart of the sea your sons have put beauty upon you for Beelim.

Therefore, having finished and having sealed to them this fruit, I shall go by way of you to Spain.

who also has sealed us, and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.

There is no wisdom, there is no courage, there is no counsel against the ungodly.

For he said, I will act in strength, and in the wisdom of [my] understanding I will remove the boundaries of nations, and will spoil their strength.

Thus says the Lord: Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, and let not the strong man boast in his strength, and let not the rich man boast in his wealth;

And the Child was growing and becoming strong in spirit, being filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.

Therefore, brothers, select seven men from among you, of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint for this need.

For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the understanding of the prudent I will annul."

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, "He catches the wise in their craftiness";

On account of this we also, since the day we heard, do not cease praying for you, and asking that you may be filled with the full knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Is there anyone wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct [that] his works [are] in meekness of wisdom.

This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
