Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is crushed- the nations are destroyed; she has turned to me; she that was full is made desolate.

And this house, which is high, shall be [so that] everyone that passes by it shall be amazed, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why has the Lord done thus to this land, and to this house?

to make their land a desolation, and a perpetual hissing. All that go through it shall be amazed, and shall shake their heads.

And I will bring this city to desolation and [make it] a hissing: everyone that passes by it shall scowl, and hiss because of all her plagues.

SAMECH. All that go by the way have clapped their hands at you; they have hissed and shaken their head at the daughter of Jerusalem. Is this the city, they say, the crown of joy of all the earth?

[ 3:1] This is the scornful city that dwells securely, that says in her heart, I am, and there is no longer any [to be] after me: how has she become desolate, and a habitation of wild beasts! Everyone that passes through her shall hiss, and shake their hands [in contempt].

And I will make you a bare rock. You shall be a place to spread nets upon; you shall be built no more; for I the Lord have spoken [it], says the Lord.

I will make you a terror, and you shall be no more forever, says the Lord God.

And yet a little while, and the sinner shall not be, and you shall seek for his place, and shall not find [it].

Yet I passed by, and lo! He was not; and I sought him, but his place was not found.
