And you, son of man, take up a lamentation against Tyre;

And they shall take up a lamentation for you, and shall say to you, How are you destroyed from out of the sea, O renowned city, that brought her terror upon all her inhabitants!

LAMED. All you that pass by the way, turn, and see if there is sorrow likened to my sorrow, which has happened to me. The Lord who spoke by me has afflicted me in the day of His fierce anger.

MEM. What shall I testify to you, or what shall I compare to you, O daughter of Jerusalem? Who shall save and comfort you, O virgin daughter of Zion? For the cup of your destruction is enlarged- who shall heal you?

and were crying out, seeing the smoke of her burning, saying, 'Who is like this great city?'

The rowers have brought you into great waters. The south wind has broken you in the heart of the sea.

And they shall cast down the walls of Tyre, and shall cast down your towers: and I will scrape her dust from off her, and make her a bare rock.

She shall be in the midst of the sea a place for repairing nets, for I have spoken [it], says the Lord; and it shall be a spoil for the nations.
