And the Lord said to me, Take to yourself a volume of a great new [book], and write in it with a man's pen concerning the making a rapid plunder of spoils; for it is close at hand.

Now then sit down and write these words on a tablet, and in a book; for these things shall be for [many long] days, even forever.

For the people are disobedient, false children, who would not hear the law of God;

And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision, and that plainly on a tablet, that he that reads it may run.

For the vision is yet for a time, and it shall shoot forth at the end, and not in vain: though he should tarry, wait for him; for he will surely come, and will not tarry.

And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, [that] Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, came against Jerusalem; and he encamped against it, and built a mound against it.

And it came to pass in the ninth month of Zedekiah king of Judah, [that] Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, and all his army, against Jerusalem, and they besieged it.

And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the ninth month, on the tenth day of the month, [that] Nebuchadnezzr king of Babylon came, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and they made a rampart round it, and built a wall round about it with large stones.
