Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when your slain are in the midst of your idols round about your altars, on every high hill, and under [every] shady tree, where they offered a sweet savor to all their idols.

and lest having looked up to the sky, and having seen the sun and the moon and the stars, and all the heavenly bodies, you should go astray and worship them, and serve them, which the Lord your God has distributed to all the nations under heaven.

A Song of Degrees. I lifted up my eyes to the mountains- from where my help shall come.

you shall bring them both out to the gate of their city, and they shall be stoned with stones, and they shall die; the young woman, because she cried not in the city; and the man, because he humbled his neighbor's spouse: so shall you remove the evil one from yourselves.

And the young woman has not [committed] a sin worthy of death; as if a man should rise up against his neighbor, and slay him, so [is] this thing;

And if anyone should find a young virgin who has not been betrothed, and should force [her] and lie with her, and be found,

A man shall not take his father's wife, and shall not uncover his father's bed.

They became as wanton horses- each one neighed after his neighbor's wife.

Shall I not punish them for these things? Says the Lord: and shall not My soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

But I say to you, that whoever looks at a woman in order to lust after her has already committed adultery [with] her in his heart.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,

And such were some of you! But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are: adultery, fornication, immorality, lewdness,

envies, murders, drinking bouts, revelries, and the like; which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
