The Lord showed me two baskets of figs, lying in front of the temple of the Lord, after Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had carried Jeconiah son of Joakim king of Judah captive, [along] with the princes, the craftsmen, the prisoners, and the rich men out of Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.

And the Lord said to me, What do you see, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the bad, very bad, which cannot be eaten, for they are so bad.

Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge the Jews that have been carried away captive, whom I have sent forth out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for good.

who say, Depart from me, draw not near to me, for I am pure. This is the smoke of My wrath, a fire burns with it continually.

Hear the words of the Lord, you that tremble at His word; speak, our brethren, to them that hate you and abominate you, that the name of the Lord may be glorified, and may appear their joy; but they shall be ashamed.

They will excommunicate you; but a time is coming when everyone who kills you will think that he is offering God a service.

Son of man, those that inhabit the desolate [places] on the land of Israel say, Abraham was [only] one, and he possessed the land; and we are more numerous; to us the land is given for a possession.
