And all the congregation of the children of Israel were assembled at Shiloh, and there they pitched the tabernacle of witness. And the land was subdued by them.

And they set up for themselves the graven image which Micah made, all the days that the house of God was in Shiloh; and it was so in those days that there was no king in Israel.

And the man went up from year to year from his city, from Ramathaim, to worship and sacrifice to the Lord God of Sabaoth at Shiloh. And [there were] Eli and his two sons, Hophni and Phineas, the priests of the Lord.

But in the place which the Lord your God shall choose in one of your cities to name His name there, and to be called upon, you shall even seek [Him] out and go there.

And there shall be a place which the Lord your God shall choose for His name to be called there, from which shall you bring all things that I order you this day; your whole burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the firstfruits of your hands, and every choice gift of yours, whatsoever you shall vow to the Lord your God.

then will I make this house as Shiloh, and I will make [this] city a curse to all the nations of all the earth.

And the people came to the camp, and the elders of Israel said, Why has the Lord caused us to fall this day before the Philistines? Let us take the ark of our God out of Shiloh, and let it proceed from the midst of us, and it shall save us from the hand of our enemies.

And the people sent to Shiloh, and they took from there the ark of the Lord who dwells between the cherubim. And both the sons of Eli, Hophni and Phineas, were with the ark.

And they fought with them; and the men of Israel fell, and they fled, every man to his tent. And there was a very great slaughter; and there fell of Israel thirty thousand fighting men.

And the ark of God was taken, and both the sons of Eli, Hophni and Phineas, died.

And He rejected the tabernacle of Shiloh, His tent where He dwelt among men.

And He gave His people to the sword; and disdained His inheritance.

Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows shall not be wept for.
