And Chaldea shall be a spoil. All that spoil her shall be satisfied.

[so] a fearful and a grievous vision was declared to me; he that is treacherous deals treacherously, the transgressor transgresses. The Elamites are upon me, and the ambassadors of the Persians come against me; now will I groan and comfort myself.

Because you have plundered many nations, all the nations that are left shall plunder you, because of the blood of men, and the sins of the land and city, and of all that dwell in it.

And the ten horns which you saw, and the Beast, these will hate the harlot, and will make her desolated and naked, and will eat her flesh, and will burn her up with fire.

The warrior of Babylon has failed to fight; they shall sit there in the siege. Their power is broken; they have become like women; her tabernacles have been set on fire; her bars are broken.

A sword upon her warriors, and they shall be weakened. A sword upon their horses, and upon their chariots.

Thus says the Lord: The bow of Elam is broken, [even] the chief of their power.

But their bow and arrows were mightily consumed, and the sinews of their arms were slackened by the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob; this is he that strengthened Israel from the God of your father;

The bow of the mighty has grown feeble, and the weak have girded themselves with strength.

Let their sword enter into their [own] heart, and their bows be broken.

Putting an end to wars as to the ends of the earth; He will crush the bow, and break in pieces the weapon, and burn the bucklers with fire.

There He broke the power of the bows, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Pause.

And I will destroy the bow out of your left hand, and your arrows out of your right hand, and I will cast you down on the mountains of Israel;

And they that inhabit the cities of Israel shall come forth, and make a fire with the arms, the shields and the spears, and bows and arrows, and javelins, and lances, and they shall keep the fire burning with them for seven years.

Flee from the midst of Babylon, and deliver everyone his soul; and be not overthrown in her iniquity; for it is the time of her retribution from the Lord. He is rendering to her a recompense.

And I will recompense to Babylon and to all the Chaldeans that dwell [there] all the evil that they have done to Zion before your eyes, says the Lord.

A voice of men fleeing and escaping from the land of Babylon, to declare to Zion the vengeance [that comes] from the Lord our God.

Summon many against Babylon, everyone that bends the bow. Camp against her round about; let none of her [people] escape. Render to her according to her works, according to all that she has done, do to her; for she has resisted the Lord, the Holy God of Israel.

In the day of vengeance I will recompense, whenever their foot shall be tripped up; for the day of their destruction [is] near to them, and the judgments at hand are close upon you.

A Psalm of David for the fourth [day] of the week. The Lord is a God of vengeance; the God of vengeance has declared Himself.

Be exalted, You that judge the earth; render a reward to the proud.

Wretched daughter of Babylon! Blessed [shall he be] who shall reward you as you have rewarded us.

For it is the day of judgment of the Lord, and the year of the recompense of Zion in judgment.

Comfort one another, you fainthearted; be strong, fear not; behold, our God renders judgment, and He will render [it]; He will come and save us.

as one about to render a recompense, [even] reproach to His adversaries.

since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,

Because her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes.

Give back to her as also she gave back, and pay back double as also she [did], and according to her works. In her cup which she mixed, mix for her a double [portion].

"Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced judgment for you against her!"

For true and righteous are His judgments, for He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged the blood of His servants [shed] by her hand."
