For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout all the earth, to strengthen every heart that is perfect toward Him. In this you have done foolishly; henceforth there shall be war with you.

And you, Daniel, close the words, and seal the book to the time of the end; until many are taught, and knowledge is increased.

They shall seize upon the city, and run upon the walls, and go up upon the houses, and enter in through the windows as thieves.

And the waters shall be troubled from sea to sea, and from the north to the east shall [men] run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord, and they shall not find it.

and spoke to him, saying, Run and speak to that young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be fully inhabited by reason of the abundance of men and cattle in the midst of her.

For she sits by the gates of princes, and sings in the entrances, [saying],

I will rise now, and go about in the city, in the market places, and in the streets, and I will seek him whom my soul loves: I sought him, but I found him not.

So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.'

And Elijah said, I have been very jealous for the Lord Almighty, because the children of Israel have forsaken You; they have dug down Your altars, and have slain Your prophets with the sword; and I alone am left, and they seek my life, to take it.

A man is valuable and a merciful man precious, but it is hard to find a faithful man.

And I sought from among them a man behaving uprightly, and standing before Me perfectly in the time of wrath, so that I should not utterly destroy her: but I found [him] not.

And Abraham drew near and said, Would You destroy the righteous with the wicked, and shall the righteous be as the wicked?

Far be it from You to do such at thing, so as to destroy the righteous with the wicked, so the righteous shall be as the wicked: far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

And Abraham answered and said, Now I have begun to speak to my Lord, and I am [but] dust and ashes.

And he continued to speak to Him still, and said, But if there should be found there forty? And He said, I will not destroy it for the forty's sake.

And he said, Since I am able to speak to the Lord, what if there should be found there twenty? And He said, I will not destroy it, if I should find there twenty.

For the end, A Psalm of David, upon the eighth. Save me, O Lord; for the godly man has failed; for truth is diminished from among the children of men.

They have all gone out of the way, they have together become corrupt, there is none that does good, no not one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have used deceit. The poison of asps is under their lips: whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; their feet are swift to shed blood: destruction and misery are in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known: there is no fear of God before their eyes.

God looked down from heaven upon the sons of men, to see if there were any that understood, or sought after God.

Will none of the workers of iniquity know, who devour My people as they would eat bread? They have not called upon God. There were they greatly afraid, where there was no fear;

Alas for me! For I have become as one gathering straw in harvest, and as [one gathering] grape-gleanings in the vintage, when there is no cluster for me to eat the first-ripe fruit: alas my soul!

For the godly has perished from the earth; and there is none upright among men: they all quarrel even to blood: they grievously afflict everyone his neighbor.

and if you shall seek it as silver, and search diligently for it as for treasures;

For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His presence come knowledge and understanding,

None speaks justly, neither is there true judgment; they trust in vanities, and speak empty [words]; for they conceive trouble, and bring forth iniquity.

And we have turned back judgment, and righteousness has departed afar off; for truth is consumed in their ways, and they could not pass by a straight [path].

And truth has been taken away, and they have turned aside [their] mind from understanding. And the Lord saw it, and it pleased Him not that there was no judgment.

and in all deception of unrighteousness among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
