Go and say to Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, Thus said the Lord God of Israel: Behold, I [will] bring My words upon this city for evil, and not for good.

For I will surely save you, and you shall by no means fall by the sword; and you shall find your life, because you trusted in Me, says the Lord.

If the Ethiopian shall change his skin, or the leopardess her spots, then shall you be able to do good, having learned [to do] evil.

Ambassadors shall arrive out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall hasten [to stretch out] her hand readily to God.

And I say to you that many shall come from east and west, and recline [to eat] with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven;

but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

"Thus the last shall be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few [are] chosen."

Then Jesus answered and said: "A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and encountered bandits, who after having stripped him of his clothing and having wounded him, departed, leaving [him] half dead.

Likewise a Levite, arriving at the place, came and saw, and passed by on the opposite side.

And coming to him, he bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and putting him on his own animal, he brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

So which of these three does it seem to you proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the bandits?"

And they will come from the east and the west, and the north and the south, and will recline [to eat] in the kingdom of God.

And behold, there are last who shall be first, and there are first who shall be last."

And arising, he went; and behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch, a court official of Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem worshipping,

Then the Spirit said to Philip, "Go near, and join yourself to this chariot."

And he said, "How can I, if not someone guides me?" And he urged Philip to come up and sit with him.

In His humiliation His justice was taken away, and who will recount His generation? For His life is taken away from the earth."

And Philip, opening his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, preached the good news [about] Jesus to him.

Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught up Philip, and the eunuch did not see him any longer; and he went on his way rejoicing.

the princes of Judah, and the men in power, and the priests, and the people.

And he carried Jehoiachin away to Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his eunuchs; and he carried away the mighty men of the land into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.

And he was in the gate of Benjamin, and [there was] a man there with whom he lodged, Irajah the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he caught Jeremiah, saying, You are fleeing to the Chaldeans.

then shall his father and his mother take hold of him, and bring him forth to the elders of his city, and to the gate of the place;

When I went forth early in the city, and the seat was placed for me in the streets.

And the great men ceased speaking, and laid their finger on their mouth.

For the ear heard, and blessed me; and the eye saw me, and turned aside.

Let the blessing of the perishing one come upon me; yea, the mouth of the widow has blessed me.

I was the eye of the blind, and the foot of the lame.

And I broke the fangs of the wicked; I plucked the spoil out of the midst of their teeth.

They hated him that reproved in the gates, and abhorred holy speech.
