And the princes were very angry with Jeremiah, and struck him, and sent him into the house of Jonathan the scribe, for they had turned [his house] into a prison.

And the army of the king of Babylon had made a rampart against Jerusalem; and Jeremiah was kept in the court of the prison, which is in the king's house.

For King Zedekiah[had] shut him up, saying, Why do you prophesy, saying, Thus says the Lord, Behold, I [will] give this city into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;
