JOD. He will give his cheek to him that smites him: he will be filled full with reproaches.

Now shall the daughter [of Zion] be completely hedged in: he has laid siege against us: they shall smite the tribes of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.

But I say to you not to resist an evil person. But whoever shall slap you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Then they spat in His face, and beat Him with [their] fists; and they slapped [Him],

Then he released Barabbas to them; and having scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.

Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with [their] fists, and to say to Him, "Prophesy!" And the attendants were striking Him with slaps [to the face].

And they were striking His head with a reed and were spitting on Him; and bowing the knee, they [mockingly] worshipped Him.

Now the men who were holding Jesus were mocking Him and beating [Him].

And having blindfolded Him, they were striking His face and asking Him, saying, "Prophesy! Who is the one who struck You?"

And when He had said these things, one of the attendants who stood by slapped Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, "Is this how You answer the high priest?"

looking unto Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured [the] cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

And I strove with them and cursed them; and I struck some of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, [saying,] You shall not give your daughters to their sons, and you shall not take of their daughters to your sons.
