And if they should say to him, You alone are ruler;

Whom have you reproached and provoked? And against whom have you lifted up your voice? And have you not lifted up your eyes on high against the Holy One of Israel?

For you have reproached the Lord by messengers; for you have said, With the multitude of chariots have I ascended to the height of mountains, and to the sides of Lebanon, and I have cropped the height of his cedars and the beauty of his cypresses, and I entered into the height of the forest region;

Lest you should say in your heart, My strength, and the power of my [own] hand have worked for me this great wealth!

and you shall say to the children of Ammon: Hear the word of the Lord; thus says the Lord: Forasmuch as you have rejoiced against My sanctuary, because it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, because it was laid waste, and against the house of Judah, because they went into captivity;

Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is crushed- the nations are destroyed; she has turned to me; she that was full is made desolate.

And you, son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord: Because your heart has been exalted, and you have said, I am God, I have inhabited the dwelling of God in the heart of the sea; yet you are a man and not God, though you have set your heart as the heart of God.

Have you gained power for yourself by your [own] knowledge or your [own] prudence, and [gathered] gold and silver in your treasures?

Therefore thus says the Lord: Since you have set your heart as the heart of God;

and they shall bring down your beauty to destruction. And they shall bring you down; and you shall die the death of the slain in the heart of the sea.

and say, Thus says the Lord: Behold, I am against you O Pharaoh, the great dragon that lies in the midst of his rivers, that says, The rivers are mine, and I made them.

the king answered and said, Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for a royal residence, by the might of my power, for the honor of my glory?

[ 6:14] You who rejoice at vanity, who say, Have we not possessed horns by our own strength?

Therefore will he sacrifice to his drag, and burn incense to his casting net, because by them he has made his portion fat, and his meats choice.

In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser king of the Assyrians came, and took Ijon, Abel, Beth Maachah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, [even] all the land of Naphtali, and carried them away to the Assyrians.

In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of the Assyrians took Samaria, and carried Israel away to the Assyrians, and settled them in Halah and in Habor, [near] the River of Gozan, and [in] the mountains of the Medes.

And the king of Assyria brought from Babylon the men of Cuthah, [and men] from Ava, and from Hamath and Sepharvaim, and they were settled in the cities of Samaria in the place of the children of Israel. And they inherited Samaria, and were settled in its cities.

And the king of the Assyrians carried away the Samaritans to Assyria, and put them in Halah and in Habor, [by] the River Gozan, and [in] the mountains of the Medes;

until I come and remove you to a land like your own land, a land of grain and wine, and bread and vineyards, a land of olive oil and honey, and you shall live and not die; and do not hearken to Hezekiah, for he deceives you, saying, The Lord shall deliver you.

And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria, and carried away Reuben and Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, Habor, and to the river of Gozan, until this day.

And I will carry you away beyond Damascus, says the Lord, the Almighty God is His name.

Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and that trust in the mountain of Samaria; they have gathered [the harvest of] the heads of the nations, and they have gone in themselves.

O house of Israel, pass by all of you, and see; and pass by from there to Hamath; and from there descend to Gath of the Philistines, the chief of all these kingdoms, see if their coasts are greater than your coasts.

And Ahaz took the silver and the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and of the king's house, and sent gifts to the king.

And Hezekiah gave all the silver that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the king's house.

Though he will cause a division among [his] brothers, the Lord shall bring upon him an east wind from the desert, and shall dry up his veins [and] quite drain his fountains. He shall dry up his land, and [spoil] all his precious vessels.

Samaria shall be utterly destroyed, for she has resisted her God; they shall fall by the sword, and their sucklings shall be dashed against the ground, and their women and children ripped up.
