For what you had was little before my time, and it is increased to a multitude, and the Lord God has blessed you since my coming; now then, when shall I set up also my own house?

Let all your sheep pass by today, and separate from there every gray sheep among the rams, and everyone that is speckled and spotted among the goats- [this] shall be my reward.

And Laban said to him, Let it be according to your word.

And he set a distance of a three days' journey between them and Jacob. And Jacob tended the cattle of Laban that were left behind.

And he laid the rods which he had peeled in the hollows of the watering troughs, so that whenever the cattle should come to drink, they might conceive at the rods.

And Jacob separated the lambs, and set before the sheep a speckled ram, and every streaked one among the lambs, and he separated flocks for himself alone, and did not mingle them with Laban's sheep.

But he did not put them in [indiscriminately] whenever the cattle happened to bring forth, but the unmarked ones were Laban's, and the marked ones were Jacob's.

and he took away all his possessions and all his store, which he had gotten in Mesopotamia, and all that belonged to him, to depart to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.

And the children of Israel did as Moses commanded them, and they asked of the Egyptians articles of silver and gold and apparel.

And the Lord gave His people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, and they lent to them; and they plundered the Egyptians.

Lest you should say in your heart, My strength, and the power of my [own] hand have worked for me this great wealth!

But you shall remember the Lord your God, that He gives you strength to get wealth; even that He may establish His covenant, which the Lord swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

From where [have you come], Gehazi? And Gehazi said, Your servant has not been anywhere. And Elisha said to him, Did not my heart go with you, when the man returned from his chariot to meet you? And now you have received silver, and now you have received clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, menservants, and maidservants.

And Hazael went to meet him, and he took a present in his hand, and all the good things of Damascus, forty camel-loads, and came and stood before him, and said to Elisha, Your son the son of Hadad, the king of Syria, has sent me to you to inquire, saying, Shall I recover of this my disease?

For whoever desires to save his life shall lose it, but whoever loses his life on account of Me shall find it.

For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give [as] an exchange for his soul?

And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit eternal life.

For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's, will save it.

Or what shall a man give [as] an equivalent for his soul?

Then Peter began to say to Him, "See, we have left all things and have followed You."

who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time--houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and fields, along with persecutions--and in the age to come, eternal life.

For whoever desires to save his life shall lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake shall save it.

For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?

Send forth your bread upon the face of the water, for you shall find it after many days.

And they went after them, even to the Jordan. And behold, all along the road was full of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their panic. And the messengers returned, and brought word to the king.

He has dispersed abroad; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.

For in that day a man shall cast forth his silver and gold abominations, which they made, [in order] to worship vanities and bats;

And the sailors were alarmed, and cried everyone to his god, and cast out the wares that were in the ship into the sea, that it might be lightened of them. But Jonah had gone down into the hold of the ship, and was asleep, and snored.

And on the third day we threw off the equipment of the ship with our own hands.

And having eaten enough, they began lightening the ship and throwing out the wheat into the sea.

But such things as were gain to me, these I have considered loss for the sake of Christ.

More than that I also consider all things to be loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have sustained the loss of all things, and I consider them to be rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ

For you sympathized with me in my chains, and you received the plunder of your possessions with joy, knowing that you have for yourselves a better and enduring possession in heaven.

Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has a great recompense.
