But he said, My son shall not go down with you, because his brother is dead, and only he has been left; and [suppose] it shall come to pass that he is afflicted by the way by which you go, then you shall bring down my old age with sorrow to Hades.

If then you take this one also from my presence, and an affliction happen to him by the way, then shall you bring down my old age with sorrow to the grave.

- it shall even come to pass, when he sees the boy is not with us, [that] he will die, and your servants will bring down the old age of your servant, and our father, with sorrow to the grave.

You shall rise up before the hoary head, and honor the face of the old man, and shall fear your God: I am the Lord your God.

Truly among us are both the old and very aged man, more advanced in days than your father.

even until I am old and advanced in years. O God, forsake me not; until I have declared Your [mighty] arm to all the generation that is to come;

Old age is a crown of honor, but it is found in the ways of righteousness.

Wisdom is an ornament to young men, and gray hairs are the glory of old men.

I am [He]; and until you have grown old, I am [He]; I bear you, I have made, and I will relieve, I will take up and save you.

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, What do you see? And I said, A rod of an almond tree.

Whatsoever your hand shall find to do, do with all your might; for there is no work nor device nor knowledge nor wisdom in Hades, where you are going.

For if I remain, Hades is my habitation: and my bed has been made in darkness.

For I know that death will destroy me: for the earth is the house [appointed] for every mortal.

When he shall see wise men dying, the fool and the senseless one shall perish together; and they shall leave their wealth to strangers.

And man being in honor, understands not; he is compared to the senseless cattle, and is likened unto them.

They have laid [them] as sheep in Hades; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning, and their help shall fail in Hades from their glory.

And just as it is appointed for men once to die, and after this judgment,

And they fulfilled forty days for him, for so are the days of embalming numbered; and Egypt mourned for him seventy days.

My father adjured me, saying, In the tomb which I dug for myself in the land of Canaan, there you shall bury me; now then I will go up and bury my father, and return again.

So Joseph went up to bury his father; and all the servants of Pharaoh went up with him, and the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt.

And there went up with him also chariots and horsemen; and there was a very great company.

Thus says the Lord, Call the mourning women, and let them come; and send to the wise women, and let them utter their voice;

For a voice of lamentation has been heard in Zion, How we have become wretched! We are greatly ashamed, for we have forsaken the land, and have abandoned our tabernacles!

And He went to the house of the synagogue leader, and observed a commotion, [people] weeping and wailing, very much.

And when He went in, He said to them, "Why are you making such commotion and weeping? The child is not dead, but she is asleep."
