And I said in my heart, As the event of the fool is, so shall it be to me, even to me. And to what purpose have I gained wisdom? Moreover, I said in my heart, This is also vanity, because the fool speaks of his abundance.

Be not very just, neither be very wise, lest you be confounded.

And moreover, my son, guard yourself by means of them; of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

Hear the end of the matter, the sum: Fear God, and keep His commandments; for this is man's all.

And He said to man, Behold, godliness is wisdom: and to abstain from evil is understanding.

Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool, that he may become wise.

and again, "The LORD knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are useless."

Is there anyone wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct [that] his works [are] in meekness of wisdom.

This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
