And Moses said to them, Why have you saved every female alive?

For they were [the occasion] to the children of Israel by the word of Balaam of their revolting and despising the word of the Lord, because of Peor. And there was a plague in the congregation of the Lord.

And now, let my lord the king hear the word of his servant: if God stirs you up against me, let your offering be acceptable; but if [it is] the children of men, [may] they be cursed before the Lord, for they have cast me out this day, so that I should not be established in the inheritance of the Lord, saying, Go, serve other gods.

But Elymas the sorcerer (for so his name is translated) resisted them, seeking to turn away the proconsul from the faith.

[he] said, "O full of all guile and all craft, [you] son of [the] devil, [you] enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord?

Now I urge you, brothers, to look out for those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and turn away from them.

For such [people] do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and through smooth speech and flattering, they deceive the hearts of the innocent.

But I fear, lest perhaps as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

For if he who comes [to you] preaches another Jesus whom we did not preach, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you did not accept, you may well put up with him!

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.

Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach a gospel to you other than what we preached to you, let him be accursed.

As we have said before, and I say again just now, if anyone preaches a gospel to you other than what you received, let him be accursed.

and that was because of false brothers secretly brought in (who slipped in to spy out our freedom which we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might reduce us to slavery),

O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you, that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was portrayed publicly among you as crucified?

Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, will you now be made perfect in the flesh?

For when they speak haughty [words] of emptiness, they entice through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, those who are escaping from those who are living in error,

For if having escaped from the corruptions of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, yet by these, having become entangled they are defeated, the latter end has become worse for them than the first.

But I have a few things against you, because you have there [some] who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, both to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication.

He that digs a pit for his neighbor shall fall into it, and he that rolls a stone, rolls it upon himself.

He has opened a pit, and dug it up, and he shall fall into the ditch which he has made.

His trouble shall return on his own head, and his unrighteousness shall come down on his own crown.

The heathen are caught in the destruction which they planned: in the very snare which they hid is their foot taken.

He that digs a pit shall fall into it; and him that breaks down a hedge a serpent shall bite.

The Lord will not famish a righteous soul, but He will overthrow the life of the ungodly.

In the houses of the righteous is much strength, but the fruits of the ungodly shall perish.

A desirable treasure will rest on the mouth of the wise, but foolish men will swallow it up.

And it shall come to pass when you shall have heard these statutes, and have kept and done them, that the Lord your God shall keep for you the covenant and the mercy, which He swore to your fathers.

You shall be blessed beyond all nations; there shall not be among you an impotent or barren one, or among your livestock.

But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight [themselves] in the abundance of peace.

I was [once] young, indeed I am now old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed seeking bread.

He is merciful, and lends continually; and his seed shall be blessed.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
