And all Israel went down to the land of the Philistines to forge everyone his reaping hook and his tool, and everyone his ax and his sickle.

And it was near the time of vintage. And their tools were [valued at] three shekels for a plow share, and there was the same rate for the ax and the sickle.

The heart delights in ointments and wines and perfumes, but the soul is broken by calamities.

And whoever shall disobey you, and whoever shall not hearken to your words as you shall command him, let him die; but be strong and courageous.

And Jonathan son of Saul arose, and went to David to Caene, and strengthened his hands in the Lord.

And he said, If Syria is too strong for me, then shall you help me: and if the children of Ammon are too strong for you, then will we be ready to help you.

Be courageous, and let us be strong for our people, and for the sake of the cities of our God, and the Lord shall do that which is good in His eyes.

For seeing you have instructed many, and have strengthened the hands of the weak one,

and have supported the failing with words, and have imparted courage to feeble knees.

Be strong, you relaxed hands and feeble knees.

Comfort one another, you fainthearted; be strong, fear not; behold, our God renders judgment, and He will render [it]; He will come and save us.

that no one should be disturbed by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we are appointed unto this.

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but endure hardship with the gospel according to the power of God,

For which cause I also suffer these things; but I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I have been persuaded that He is able to guard that which I have committed to Him until that Day.

You therefore endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

in which I endure hardship unto chains as an evildoer; but the word of God is not chained.

Faithful is this word: For if we died with [Him], we shall also live with [Him].

If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

And let us consider one another for the stirring up of love and of good works,

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various trials,

Beloved, do not be surprised by the fiery trial among you, taking place to test you, as though some strange thing [was] happening to you;

but inasmuch as you partake in the sufferings of Christ, rejoice, in order that also at the unveiling of His glory, you may rejoice with great happiness.
