[ 3:18] And to Adam He said, Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat of it- of that you have eaten, cursed is the ground in your labors, in pain shall you eat of it all the days of your life.

[ 3:20] In the sweat of your face shall you eat your bread until you return to the ground out of which you were taken, for dust you are, and to dust you shall return.

then let the thistles come up to me instead of wheat, and a bramble instead of barley. And Job ceased speaking.

For thus says the Lord to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Break up fresh ground for yourselves, and sow not among thorns.

But others fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them out.

But the [seed] sown in the thorns is he who hears the word, and the anxiety of this age, and the deceitfulness of riches chokes out the word, and it becomes fruitless.

but if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, of which the end [is] for burning.

The fear of the Lord is life to a man; and he shall lodge without fear in places where knowledge is not seen.

A sluggard when reproached is not ashamed; so also he who borrows grain in harvest.

The sluggard makes excuses, and says, [There is] a lion in the road, and murderers in the streets.

for every drunkard and whoremonger shall be poor, and every sluggard shall clothe himself with tatters and ragged garments.

By slothful neglect a building will be brought low, and by idleness of the hands the house will fall to pieces.
