it seemed good also to me, having investigated from the first all things carefully, to write to you in orderly fashion, most distinguished Theophilus,

so that you may know the certainty of those things in which you were instructed.

but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that [by] believing you may have life in His name.

These things I write to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe in the name of the Son of God.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be prepared with a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
