For if wisdom shall come into your understanding, and discernment shall seem pleasing to your soul,

Her ways are good ways, and all her paths are peaceful.

[My] son, eat honey, for the honeycomb is good, that your mouth may be sweetened.

Thus shall you perceive wisdom in your soul: for if you find it, your end shall be good, and hope shall not fail you.

To be desired more than gold, and much precious stone; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

How sweet are Your oracles to my taste! More so than honey to my mouth!

I have inherited Your testimonies forever; for they are the joy of my heart.

I will rejoice because of Your oracles, as one that finds much spoil.

Consume them, and Your word shall be to me for the joy and gladness of my heart. For Your name has been called upon me, O Lord Almighty.

for I am full of words, for the spirit within me destroys me.

And my belly is as a skin of sweet wine, bound up and ready to burst; or as a brazier's laboring bellows.

He that believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his belly will flow rivers of living water."

Listen to me, for I will speak solemn [truths]; and I will produce right [sayings] from my lips.

He that brings forth wisdom from his lips smites the fool with a rod.

The lips of the righteous know sublime [truths], but the foolish die in want.

The lips of the wise are bound by discretion, but the hearts of the foolish are not safe.

[Men] call the wise and understanding evil, but they that are pleasing in speech shall hear more.

As a golden apple in a necklace of sardius, so [is it] to speak a wise word.

With my lips have I declared all the judgments of Your mouth.

Let my lips utter a hymn, when You shall have taught me Your statutes.

For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord Almighty.

Therefore through Him let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, confessing to His name.
