[ 6:6] And the Lord God, having seen that the wicked actions of men were multiplied upon the earth, and that everyone in his heart was intently brooding over evil continually,

[ 6:7] that God took it to heart that He had made man upon the earth, and He pondered it deeply.

[ 6:13] And the Lord God saw the earth, that it was corrupted; because all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth.

For who, being a mortal, [is such] that he shall be blameless? Or [who that is] born of a woman, that he should be just?

Alas then, abominable and unclean is man, drinking unrighteousness as a draught.

The Lord looked down from heaven upon the sons of men, to see if there were any that understood, or sought after God.

They have all gone out of the way, they have together become corrupt, there is none that does good, no not one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have used deceit. The poison of asps is under their lips: whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; their feet are swift to shed blood: destruction and misery are in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known: there is no fear of God before their eyes.

But behold, this have I found, that God made man upright; but they have sought out many devices.

There is this evil in all that is done under the sun, that there is one event to all. Yea, the heart of the sons of men is filled with evil, and madness is in their heart during their life, and after that [they go] to the dead.

for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal, and walking according to human principles?

in which you once walked according to the age of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit which is now working in the sons of disobedience,

among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the senses, and were by nature children of wrath, as also the rest.

For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, being deceived, being enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

An unrighteous thought is an abomination to the Lord, but the sayings of the pure are held in honor.

A wicked generation judge themselves to be just, but do not cleanse their way.

Many must be tested, and thoroughly whitened, and tried with fire, and sanctified; but the transgressors shall transgress: and none of the transgressors shall understand, but the wise shall understand.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

"Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree rotten and its fruit rotten; for a tree is known by its fruit.

and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

All things indeed are pure to the pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience have been defiled.

who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people as [His] own possession, zealous for good works.

not by works of righteousness which we did, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

Since you have purified your souls by obedience to the truth through the Spirit in sincere love for the brothers, love one another fervently from a pure heart,

having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.

If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of Him.

And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
