For it is better to traffic for her, than for treasures of gold and silver.

And she is more valuable than precious stones: no evil thing shall resist her. She is well known to all that approach her, and no precious thing is equal to her in value.

Wealth and glory belong to me; yea, abundant possessions and righteousness.

[It is] better to have my fruit than [to have] gold and precious stones; and my produce is better than choice silver.

The brood of wisdom is more to be chosen than gold, and the brood of prudence more to be chosen than silver.

To be desired more than gold, and much precious stone; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

I have delighted in the way of Your testimonies, [as much] as in all riches.

The law of Your mouth is better to me than thousands of [coins of] gold and silver.

Therefore have I loved Your commandments more than gold, or topaz.

"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on the earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves dig through and steal;

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure having been hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it, he went and sold everything he had, and bought that field."

Jesus said to him, "If you desire to be perfect, go, sell your belongings and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."

But when the young man heard the word, he went away grieved, for he had many possessions.

And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit eternal life.

But where has wisdom been discovered? And where is the place of understanding?

The depth said, It is not in me, and the sea said, It is not with me.

Neither shall it be compared with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx and sapphire.

Coral and fine pearl shall not be mentioned, but do you esteem wisdom above the most precious things.

Where then is wisdom found? And of what kind is the place of understanding?

There is one [alone], and there is not a second; yea, he has neither son nor brother: yet there is no end to all his labor; neither is his eye satisfied with wealth. And for whom do I labor, and deprive my soul of good? This is also vanity, and an evil trouble.

So the master praised the unrighteous manager because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this age are shrewder in their own generation than the sons of light.
