[There is] a fountain of life in the hand of a righteous man, but destruction shall cover the mouth of the ungodly.

The lips of the righteous know sublime [truths], but the foolish die in want.

The lips of the wise are bound by discretion, but the hearts of the foolish are not safe.

A bad man will by no means obey counsel, neither will he say anything seasonable, or of good report.

As a whip for a horse, and a goad for a donkey, so is a rod for a simple nation.

And the Lord said to Moses, Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt, and let the locust come up on the land, and it shall devour every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees, which the hail left.

The Lord, [even] God, gives me the tongue of instruction, to know when it is fit to speak a word; He has appointed for me early, He has given me an ear to hear;
