Give an opportunity to a wise man, and he will be wiser: instruct a just man, and he will receive more [instruction].

He that loves instruction loves sense, but he that hates reproofs is a fool.

Therefore listen to me, you that are wise in heart: far be it from me to sin before the Lord, and to pervert righteousness before the Almighty.

Take heed lest He rebuke you: hear this, listen to the voice of words.

Because the wise in heart shall say this, and a wise man listens to my word.

You have made me wiser than my enemies [in] Your commandment; for it is mine forever.

I understand more that the aged; because I have sought out Your commandments.

I speak as to wise men; judge for yourselves what I say.

And David said to Abigail, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who sent you this very day to meet me.

And blessed be your conduct, and blessed are you, who has hindered me this very day from coming to shed blood, and from avenging myself.

And it came to pass when the prophet was speaking to him, that he said to him, Have I made you the king's counselor? Take heed lest you be scourged! And the prophet became silent, and said, I know that [God] is disposed against you to destroy you, because you have done this thing, and have not hearkened to my counsel.
