And Eleazar the son of Aaron took for himself one of the daughters of Putiel as wife, and she bore to him Phinehas. These are the heads of the family of the Levites, according to their generations.

And these [are] those of the children of Israel that received their inheritance in the land of Canaan, to whom Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the [son] of Nun, and the heads of the families of the tribes of the children of Israel, gave inheritance.

These [are] the divisions which Eleazar the priest divided by lot, and Joshua the [son] of Nun, and the heads of families among the tribes of Israel, according to the lots, in Shiloh before the Lord by the doors of the tabernacle of testimony, and they went to take possession of the land.

And these were the heads of the houses of their families: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valor, men of renown, heads of the houses of their families.

And the sons of Tola [were] Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Jibsam, and Shemuel, chiefs of their fathers' houses [belonging to] Tola, men of might according to their generations; their number in the days of David [was] twenty-two thousand six hundred.

And the sons of Bela [were] Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri- five [in all]; heads of houses of families, mighty men; and their number [was] twenty-two thousand and thirty-four.

These [were] the sons of Ehud, who were the heads of families of them that dwell in Geba, and who forced them to move to Manahath:

And the sons of Reuben [were] Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

Reuben, you [are] my firstborn, you my strength, and the first of my children, hard to be endured, [hard and] self-willed.

You were insolent like water, burst not forth with violence, for you went up to the bed of your father; then you defiled the couch, whereupon you went up.

Reuben [was] the firstborn of Israel: and the sons of Reuben, Enoch and the family of Hanoch; to Pallu belongs the family of the Palluites.

To Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: to Carmi, the family of Carmi.

The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel [were] Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

These [are] the families of Reuben; and their numbering was forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty.

And Moses gave the land to the tribe of Reuben according to their families.

And the borders of Reuben were the banks of the Jordan. This [is] the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, the cities and their villages.
