And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people combined against Aaron, and said to him, Arise and make us gods who shall go before us; for this Moses, the man who brought us forth out of the land of Egypt- we do not know what has become of him.

they have quickly gone out of the way which you have commanded; they have made for themselves a calf, and worshipped it, and sacrificed to it, and said,

For they said to me, Make us gods which shall go before us; as for this man Moses, who brought us out of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.

And you shall not make to yourself molded gods.

You shall not follow idols, and you shall not make to yourselves molten gods: I [am] the Lord your God.

I [am] the Lord your God: you shall not make to yourselves gods made with hands, or graven [images]; neither shall you rear up a pillar for yourselves, neither shall you set up a stone [for] an object in your land to worship it: I am the Lord your God.

And take careful heed to your hearts, for you saw no similitude in the day in which the Lord spoke to you in Horeb in the mountain out of the midst of the fire;

the likeness of any beast of those that are on the earth, the likeness of any winged bird which flies under heaven,

and lest having looked up to the sky, and having seen the sun and the moon and the stars, and all the heavenly bodies, you should go astray and worship them, and serve them, which the Lord your God has distributed to all the nations under heaven.

Take heed to yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of the Lord our God, which He made with you, and you transgress, and make to yourselves a graven image of any of the things concerning which the Lord your God commanded you.

And when you have begotten sons and grandsons, and you have dwelt a long time on the land, and have transgressed, and made a graven image of any thing, and have done wickedly before the Lord your God to provoke Him;

You shall not make to yourself an image, nor likeness of anything, whatever things [are] in the heaven above, and whatever [are] in the earth below, and whatever [are] in the waters under the earth.

Cursed [is] the man whosoever shall make a graven or molten image, an abomination to the Lord, the work of the hands of craftsmen, and shall put it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, So be it.

And the king took counsel, and went, and made two golden heifers, and said to the people, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold, [here are] your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

And he set the graven [image], the molten [statue], the idol which he made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever;

Let all that worship graven images be ashamed, who boast of their idols; worship Him, all you His angels.

The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the works of men's hands.

they have ears, but they cannot hear; they have noses, but they cannot smell;

Let those that make them become like them, and all who trust in them.

The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the works of men's hands.

they have ears, but they cannot hear; for there is no breath in their mouth.

To whom have you compared the Lord? And with what likeness have you compared Him?

For the artificer chooses out a wood that will not rot, and will wisely inquire how he shall set up his image, and [that so] that it should not be moved.

I am the Lord God; that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, nor My praises to graven images.

But they are turned back; be utterly ashamed, you that trust in graven [images], who say to the molten [images], You are our gods.

But they that framed [false gods] did not then hearken; and they that engraved [images] are all vain, performing their own desires, which shall not profit them, but they shall be ashamed

and all by whom they were made have withered; yes, let all the deaf be gathered from [among] men, and let them stand together; and let them be ashamed and confounded together;

The artificer, having chosen a piece of wood, marks it out with a rule, and fits it with glue, and makes it as the form of a man, and as the beauty of a man, to set it up in the house.

that it might be for men to burn; and having taken part of it he warms himself; yes, they burn part of it, and bake loaves on it; and [of] the rest they make for themselves gods, and they worship them.

And the rest he makes a graven god, and worships and prays, saying, Deliver me; for you are my god.

And one has not considered in his mind, nor known in his understanding, that he has burned up half of it in the fire, and baked loaves on its coals and has roasted and eaten flesh, and of the rest of it he has made an abomination, and they worship it.

All that are opposed to Him shall be ashamed and confounded, and shall walk in shame; you isles, keep a feast to Me.

To whom have you compared Me? See [and] consider, you that go astray.

They bear it upon the shoulder, and go; and if they put it upon its place, it remains, it cannot move; and whosoever shall cry to it, it cannot hear; it cannot save him from trouble.

For the customs of the nations are vain; it is a tree cut out of the forest, the work of the carpenter, or a molten image.

they will set them up that they may not move.

Every man is deprived of knowledge, every goldsmith is confounded because of his graven images; for he has cast false gods, there is no breath in them.

Such is not the portion of Jacob; for He that formed all things, He is his inheritance; the Lord is His name.

So I went in and looked, and I beheld vain abominations, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon them round about.

"Therefore, being the offspring of God, we ought not to suppose that the Godhead is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and the imagination of man.

And you observe and hear that not only at Ephesus, but almost in all of Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away a great multitude, saying that they are not gods which are made by human hands.

And hearing, and becoming full of anger, they were crying out saying, "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!"

Now when Paul desired to enter into the people, the disciples would not permit him.

Then others were calling out something different, for the assembly was confused, and the majority did not know for what reason they had come together.

But recognizing he was a Jew, there arose one voice from [them] all, calling out for two hours, "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!"

and changed the glory of the incorruptible God for a likeness of an image of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and reptiles.

But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent from the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and of wood, which neither are able to see nor to hear nor to walk.

And he deceives my own [people] who dwell on the earth by the signs which were given to him to do before the Beast, saying to those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound--and came to life!-from the sword.

And it was granted to him to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

Then another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the Beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand,

And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, those who worship the Beast and his image, and anyone who receives the mark of his name."

So the first went off and poured out his bowl on the earth, and a bad and malignant ulcer came upon the men having the mark of the beast, and those who worshipped his image.
