For You, O God, have proved us; You have tried us with fire as silver is tried.

You have caused men to ride over our heads; we went through the fire and water; but You brought us out into [a place of] refreshment.

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but have courage, I have overcome the world."

strengthening the souls of the disciples, urging [them] to continue in the faith, [saying], "Through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God."

And not only that, but we also rejoice in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces endurance;

And hope does not put to shame, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

But in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

For our momentary light affliction is working out for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

And I said to him, "My lord, you know." So he said to me, "These are those who come out of the Great Tribulation, and have washed their robes and they made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

And the Philistines came up yet again, and assembled in the Valley of Giants.

And it shall come to pass when you hear the sound of a clashing together from the Grove of Weeping, then you shall go down to them, for then the Lord shall go forth before you to create havoc in the battle with the Philistines.

O God, You will grant to Your inheritance a gracious rain; for it was weary, but You have refreshed it.

And the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom; and they marched on that roundabout route for seven days; and there was no water for the army, and for the cattle that went with them.

And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord, that we may inquire of the Lord by him? And one of the servants of the king of Israel answered and said, [There is] here Elisha son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.

And Elisha said to the king of Israel, What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father, and the prophets of your mother. And the king of Israel said to him, Has the Lord called the three kings to deliver them into the hands of Moab?

And now fetch me a harpist. And it came to pass, as the harpist played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him.

For thus says the Lord: You shall not see wind, neither shall you see rain, yet this valley shall be filled with water, and you and your flocks and your cattle shall drink.

And you shall smite every strong city, and you shall cut down every good tree, and you shall stop all wells of water, and spoil every good piece [of land] with stones.
