Because he remembered not to show mercy, but persecuted the needy and poor man, [that] he might even slay the broken in heart.

And there was a prophet of the Lord there whose name [was] Oded. And he went out to meet the army that was coming to Samaria, and said to them, Behold, the wrath of the Lord God of your fathers [is] upon Judah, and He has delivered them into your hands, but you have killed them in wrath, and it has reached even to heaven.

Pity me, pity me, O my friends; for it is the hand of the Lord that has touched me.

Why do you persecute me as also the Lord [does], and are not satisfied with my flesh?

And I am very angry with the heathen that combine to attack [her]: for as I indeed was a little angry, but they combined to attack [her] for evil.

who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God and are against all men,

He bears our sins, and is pained for us; yet we accounted Him to be in trouble, and in suffering, and in affliction.

The Lord also is pleased to purge Him from His stroke. If you give an offering for sin, Your soul shall see a long-lived seed;

Awake, O sword, against My shepherds, and against the man who is My citizen, says the Lord Almighty; strike the shepherds, and draw out the sheep: and I will bring My hand upon the little ones.

So the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "And He was numbered with the transgressors."

save Yourself, and come down from the cross!"

Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, so that we may see and believe Him." Even those who were crucified with Him were reviling Him.
