Pity me, O Lord, for I am afflicted; my eye is troubled with indignation, my soul and my belly.

For my life is spent with grief, and my years with groanings; my strength has been weakened through poverty, and my bones are troubled.

My heart is troubled, my strength has failed me; and the light of my eyes is not with me.

My eyes are dimmed from poverty; but I cried out to You, O Lord, all the day; I spread forth my hands to You.

For my eyes are dimmed through pain, I have been grievously beset by all.

For this has grief come; our heart is sorrowful: for this our eyes are darkened.

Because I kept silence, my bones waxed old, from my crying all the day.
