You have brought us into the snare; You have laid afflictions on our back.

You have caused men to ride over our heads; we went through the fire and water; but You brought us out into [a place of] refreshment.

My soul has cleaved to the ground; revive me according to Your word.

And I will give it into the hands of them that injured you, and them that afflicted you; who said to your soul, Bow down, that we may pass over; and you laid your body to the ground to them passing by outside.

HE. They that feed on dainties are desolate in the streets; they that used to be nursed in scarlet have clothed themselves with dung.
