For the end, A Psalm of David. The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They have corrupted [themselves], and have become abominable in their devices; there is none that does good, there is not so much as one.

They have all gone out of the way, they have together become corrupt, there is none that does good, no not one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have used deceit. The poison of asps is under their lips: whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; their feet are swift to shed blood: destruction and misery are in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known: there is no fear of God before their eyes.

[ 6:6] And the Lord God, having seen that the wicked actions of men were multiplied upon the earth, and that everyone in his heart was intently brooding over evil continually,

[ 6:12] But the earth was corrupted before God, and the earth was filled with iniquity.

Alas then, abominable and unclean is man, drinking unrighteousness as a draught.

or if also having sinned unintentionally, I hid my sin;

for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal, and walking according to human principles?

that he no longer should live the remaining time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.

For we have spent enough of our past lifetime to accomplish the will of the Gentiles--having walked in wantonness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.

How shall a young man direct his way? By keeping Your words.

I have hidden Your oracles in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

For if wisdom shall come into your understanding, and discernment shall seem pleasing to your soul,

to deliver you from the evil way, and from the man that speaks nothing faithfully.

who rejoice in evils, and delight in wicked perverseness;

But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'"

Jesus said to him, "Again, it is written, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.'"

Then Jesus said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him alone you shall serve.'"

Sanctify them by Your truth; Your word is truth.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

Exercising His will He begat us by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

Be sober, be watchful; your adversary the devil walks about as a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour.

having as a king over them the angel of the bottomless pit; whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the name Apollyon.
