Why do You turn Your face away, [and] forget our poverty and our affliction?

Arise, O Lord, and help us; redeem us for Your name's sake.

Remember not our old transgressions; let Your tender mercies come speedily to meet us; for we are greatly impoverished.

The Lord preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He delivered me.

For the Lord remembered us in our low estate; for His mercy [endures] forever;

For the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has brought my life down to the ground; he has made me to dwell in a dark [place], as those that have been long dead.

Hear me speedily, O Lord; my spirit has failed; do not hide Your face from me, lest I be like them that go down to the pit.

A Psalm of David, when he fled from the presence of his son Absalom. O Lord, why are they that afflict me multiplied? Many rise up against me.

But my enemies live, and are mightier than I; and they that hate me unjustly are multiplied.

He sent from heaven and saved me; He reproached them that trampled on me; God has sent forth His mercy and His truth;

and He has delivered my soul from the midst of [the lion's] whelps; I lay down to sleep, [though] troubled. [As for] the sons of men, their teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

For behold, they have hunted after my soul; violent men have set upon me; neither [is it] my iniquity, nor my sin, O Lord.

[ 24:15] And now after whom do you come forth, O king of Israel? After whom do you pursue? After a dead dog, and after a flea?

Who shall bring an accusation against God's elect? It is God who justifies.

But in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
