O Lord, make me to know my end, and the number of my days, what it is; that I may know what I lack.

Behold, You have made my days old; and my existence [is] as nothing before You; indeed, every man living [is] altogether vanity. Pause.

Remember what my being is; for have You created all the sons of men in vain?

What man is there who shall live, and not see death? Shall [anyone] deliver his soul from the hand of Hades? Pause.

And [who knows how] to number [his days] because of the fear of Your wrath? So manifest Your right hand, and those that are instructed in wisdom in the heart.

And my life is lighter than a word, and has perished in vain hope.

The eye of him that sees me shall not see me again: your eyes are upon me, and I am no more.

Arise, O Lord, in Your wrath; be exalted in the utmost boundaries of my enemies: awake, O Lord my God, according to the decree which You did command.

And they cried [with] a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, do You not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?"

Then a long white robe was given to them, and it was said to them that they should rest yet a while, until also their fellow servants and their brothers, who were about to be killed as also they [were], should complete [their course].
