But I am a worm, and not a man; a reproach of men, and the scorn of the people.

But I am poor and needy; the Lord will take care of me; You are my helper, and my defender, O my God; do not delay.

Better is a small portion with the fear of the Lord, than great treasures without the fear [of the Lord].

But His form was ignoble, and inferior to that of the children of men; [He was] a man in suffering, and acquainted with the bearing of sickness, for His face has turned from [us]; He was dishonored, and not esteemed.

Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said: "Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.

And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head."

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet on account of you He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.

Listen, my beloved brothers. Did God not choose the poor of the world [to be] rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those that love Him?

My soul is continually in Your hands; and I have not forgotten Your law.

I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Your servant; for I have not forgotten Your commandments.
