just as it is written: "He has dispersed, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever."

For the poor shall not fail off your land, therefore I charge you to do this thing, saying, You shall surely open your hands to your poor brother, and to him that is distressed upon your land.

There are [some] who scatter their own, and make it more, and there are some also who gather, yet have less.

Every sincere soul is blessed, but a passionate man is not graceful.

He that has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will recompense to him according to his gift.

Send forth your bread upon the face of the water, for you shall find it after many days.

Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for you know not what evil there shall be upon the earth.

In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening let not your hand be slack; for you know not what sort shall prosper whether this or that, or whether both shall be good alike.

But the godly have devised wise [measures], and this counsel shall stand.

Break your bread to the hungry, and lead the unsheltered poor to your house; if you see one naked, clothe [him], and you shall not disregard the relations of your own seed.

and [if] you give bread to the hungry from your heart, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall your light spring up in darkness, and your darkness [shall be] as noon day;

For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you wish you are able to do them good; but you do not always have Me.

Nevertheless give what is inside as alms; and see, all things are clean to you.

Sell your possessions and give alms; make for yourselves money bags which do not grow old, an unfailing treasure in the heavens, where a thief does not come near, nor does a moth destroy.

So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, "Still one thing you lack: sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."

For some were thinking, since Judas had the money box, that Jesus was saying to him, "Buy [the] things of which we need for the feast," or that he should give something to the poor.

and were placing them beside the feet of the apostles; and they were distributing to each, to the degree that anyone had need.

By all things I have shown you, that thus laboring it is necessary to help [those] being weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

sharing in the needs of the saints, pursuing hospitality.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet on account of you He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.

Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness;

Because the ministry of this service not only is supplying the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God,

and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you.

to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, sharing,

But do not forget the doing of good and generosity, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,

and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do not give them the necessary things of the body, what [is] the benefit?

By this we have come to know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives in behalf of our brothers.

My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Glory and riches shall be in his house; and his righteousness endures forevermore.

You shall surely restore his pledge at sunset, and he shall sleep in his [own] garment, and he shall bless you; and it shall be mercy to you before the Lord your God.

so that your charitable giving may be in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will Himself reward you openly.

Then He also said to him who invited Him, "When you give a dinner or a supper, do not call your friends, nor your brothers, nor your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid.

and you will be blessed, because they do not have [anything] to repay you; for it will be repaid to you in the resurrection of the just."

And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by the mammon of unrighteousness, so that whenever you fail, they may receive you into the eternal dwellings.

For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

He who acts unjustly, let him act unjustly still; and the filthy, let him be filthy still; and the righteous, let him do righteousness still; and the holy, let him be sanctified still."

And I will break all the horns of sinners; but the horns of the righteous one shall be exalted.

But my horn shall be exalted [as the horn] of a unicorn; and my old age with rich mercy.

My heart is established in the Lord, my horn is exalted in my God; my mouth is enlarged over my enemies, I have rejoiced in Your salvation.

Therefore thus says the Lord God of Israel: I said, Your house and the house of your father shall pass before Me forever: but now the Lord says, Far be it from Me; for I will only honor them that honor Me, and he that despises Me shall be despised.
