And the Lord said to Moses, Stretch out your hand toward heaven, and let there be darkness over the land of Egypt- darkness that may be felt.

And for three days no man saw his brother, and no man rose up from his bed for three days. But all the children of Israel had light in all the places where they were.

for a day of darkness and gloominess is near, a day of cloud and mist; a numerous and strong people shall be spread upon the mountains as the morning; there has not been one like it from the beginning, and after it there shall not be again, even to the years of many generations.

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.

Now it was about the sixth hour, and darkness came upon the whole land until the ninth hour.

Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two.

For if God did not spare the angels when they sinned, but rather confined [them] to Tartarus, and delivered [them] into chains of darkness, reserved for judgment;

These are waterless wells, clouds being driven by a storm, for whom the darkness of the netherworld has been reserved forever.

He spoke to them in a pillar of cloud; they kept His testimonies, and the ordinances which He gave them.

And you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord.

And you, son of man, fear them not, nor be dismayed at their face (for they will madden and will rise up against you round about, and you dwell in the midst of scorpions), be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their countenance, for they are a provoking house.

And you, son of man, hear Him that speaks to you; be not provoking, as the provoking house: open your mouth, and eat what I give you.
