For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection-nor angel nor spirit; but the Pharisees confess both.

And on the one hand he says to the angels, "He who makes His angels spirits and His ministers flames of fire."

Are they not all ministering spirits being sent out to minister for the sake of those who are about to inherit salvation?

And it came to pass as they were going, they went on talking; and behold, a chariot of fire [appeared,] with horses of fire, and it separated the two of them; and Elijah was taken up in a whirlwind into heaven.

And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, open the eyes of the servant, I pray, and let him see. And the Lord opened his eyes, and he saw. And behold, the mountain [was] full of horses, and there were chariots of fire round about Elisha.

And in the midst of the living creatures [there was] an appearance as of burning coals of fire, as an appearance of lamps turning among the living creatures; and the brightness of fire, and out of the fire came forth lightning.
