And the Lord shall recompense me according to my righteousness; even according to the purity of my hands shall He recompense me.

For all His judgments were before me, and His ordinances departed not from me.

I have not sat with the council of vanity, and shall by no means enter in with transgressors.

I have hated the assembly of evildoers; and will not sit with the ungodly.

For the end, A Song of David, to Jeduthun. I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue; I set a guard on my mouth, while the sinner stood in my presence.

Turn away my eyes that I may not behold vanity; revive me in Your way.

I have hated transgressors; but I have loved Your law.

You shall not covet your neighbor's wife; you shall not covet your neighbor's house; nor his field, nor his servant, nor his maid, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor any of his cattle, nor whatever belongs to your neighbor.

And it came to pass toward evening, that David arose off his couch, and walked on the roof of the king's house, and saw from the roof a woman bathing; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.

And David sent and inquired about the woman. And [one] said, [Is] not this Bathsheba the daughter of Eliab, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?

And Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying, Give me your vineyard, and I will have it for a garden of herbs, for it [is] near my house; and I will give you another vineyard better than [that] one; or if it please you, I will give you money, the price of this your vineyard, and I will have it for a garden of herbs.

And the spirit of Ahab was troubled, and he lay down upon his bed, and covered his face, and ate no bread.

And he said to her, Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite, saying, Give me your vineyard for money; or if you will, I will give you another vineyard for it; and he said, I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.

And she wrote a letter in the name of Ahab, and sealed it with his seal, and sent the letter to the elders, and to the freemen who dwelt with Naboth.

And set two men, sons of transgressors, before him, and let them testify against him, saying, He blasphemed God and the king: and let them lead him forth, and stone him, and let him die.

And they proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth in a chief place among the people.

And they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth has been stoned, and is dead.

And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth the Jezreelite was dead, that he tore his clothes, and put on sackcloth. And it came to pass afterward, that Ahab arose and went down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.

Arise, and go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who is in Samaria, for he [is] in the vineyard of Naboth, for he has gone down there to take possession of it.

And Ahab said to Elijah, Have you found me, O my enemy? And he said, I have found [you]; because you have wickedly sold yourself to work evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger;

And I will make your house as the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and as the house of Baasha son of Ahijah, because of the provocations in which you have provoked [Me], and caused Israel to sin.

Him that is dead of Ahab in the city shall the dogs eat, and him that dies in the field of Ahab shall the birds of the sky eat.

And he did very abominably in following after the abominations, according to all that the Amorite did, whom the Lord utterly destroyed from before the children of Israel.

And the word of the Lord came by the hand of his servant Elijah concerning Ahab, and the Lord said,

I made a covenant with my eyes, and I will not think upon a virgin.

Let not the desire of beauty overcome you, neither be caught by her eyes, or captivated with her eyelids.

For if you should set your eyes on bowls and cups, you shall afterwards go more naked than a pestle.

Whenever your eyes shall behold a strange woman, then your mouth shall speak perverse things.

And you shall say, They struck me, and I was not pained; and they mocked me, and I knew it not: when will it be morning, that I may go and seek those with whom I may go in company?

The sight of the eyes is better than that which wanders in soul. This is also vanity, and grasping for the wind.

He that walks in righteousness, speaking rightly, hating transgression and iniquity, and shaking his hands from gifts, stopping his ears that he should not hear the judgment of blood, shutting his eyes that he should not see injustice.

Behold, your eyes are not good, nor your heart, but [they go] after your covetousness, and after the innocent blood to shed it, and after acts of injustice and slaughter, to commit them.

Wherefore their hearts are inflamed as an oven, while they rage all the night. Ephraim is satisfied with sleep; the morning has come; he is burnt up as a flame of fire.

They are all heated like an oven, and have devoured their judges. All their kings are fallen; there was not one among them that called on Me.

And they desired fields, and plundered orphans, and oppressed families, and spoiled a man and his house, even a man and his inheritance.

But I say to you, that whoever looks at a woman in order to lust after her has already committed adultery [with] her in his heart.

Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.

Then lust, when it conceives, gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

And two men, sons of transgressors, came in, and sat opposite him, and bore witness against him, saying, You have 6blasphemed God and the king. And they led him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, and he died.

You that love the Lord, hate evil; the Lord preserves the souls of His saints; He shall deliver them from the hand of sinners.

[Let] love [be] without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.

They have all gone out of the way, they have together become corrupt, there is none that does good, no not one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have used deceit. The poison of asps is under their lips: whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; their feet are swift to shed blood: destruction and misery are in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known: there is no fear of God before their eyes.

The words of his mouth are transgression and deceit; he is not inclined to understand [how] to do good.

Blessed [is] the man whose hope is in the name of the Lord, and [who] has not regarded vanities, nor turned aside to lies.

Yea, they turned back, and tempted God, and provoked the Holy One of Israel.

And they turned back, and broke covenant, even as also their fathers; they became like a crooked bow.

But them that turn aside to crooked ways the Lord will lead away with the workers of iniquity; [but] peace [shall be] upon Israel.

they have quickly gone out of the way which you have commanded; they have made for themselves a calf, and worshipped it, and sacrificed to it, and said,

Therefore strive diligently to observe and do all things written in the Book of the Law of Moses, that you turn not to the right hand or to the left;

And Samuel said to the people, Fear not: you have [indeed] done all this wickedness; only turn not from following the Lord, and serve the Lord with all your heart.

And turn not aside after [the gods] that are nothing, who will do nothing, and will not deliver you, because they are nothing.

I greatly regret that I have made Saul to be king; for he has turned back from following Me, and has not kept My word. And Samuel was grieved, and cried to the Lord all night.

and turn us aside from this way; remove from us this path, and remove from us the oracle of Israel.

and them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and swear by the Lord, and them that swear by their king;

and them that turn aside from the Lord, and them that seek not the Lord, and them that cleave not to the Lord.

But now, having known God, or rather, having been known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which once again you wish to be slaves?

But we are not of [those] shrinking back to destruction, but of faith, to the saving of the soul.

For it was better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than knowing it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but [they went out] in order that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.

And none of the cursed things shall cleave to your hand, that the Lord may turn from His fierce anger, and show you mercy, and pity you, and multiply you, as He swore to your fathers;
