What, shall a mortal be pure before the Lord? Or a man be blameless in regard to his works?

Have You not taken account even of him, and caused him to enter into judgment before You?

For who shall be pure from uncleanness? Not even one;

For how shall a mortal be just before the Lord? Or who that is born of a woman shall purify himself?

Then Elihu the son of Barachiel, the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram, of the land of Uz, was angered: and he was very angry with Job, because he justified himself before the Lord.

I am blameless, for I have not transgressed.

For Job has said, I am righteous: the Lord has removed my judgment.

[If it be] that they shall sin against You, (for there is not a man who will not sin) and You shall bring them and deliver them up before their enemies, and they that take [them] captive shall carry [them] to a land far or near,

If You, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

And enter not into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight shall no [man] living be justified.

Therefore by works of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight, for through the law [comes] [the] knowledge of sin.
