So the devil went out from the Lord, and smote Job with sore boils from [his] feet to [his] head.

And he took a potsherd to scrape away the discharge, and sat upon a dung heap outside the city.

I have called upon death to be my father, and corruption [to be] my mother and sister.

[and] to raise up upon the earth my skin that endures these [sufferings]: for these things have been accomplished to me of the Lord;

Then is his sin brought to remembrance, and he vanishes like a vapor of dew; but let what he has done be recompensed to him, and let every unrighteous one be crushed like rotten wood.

With great force [my disease] has taken hold of my garment- it has compassed me as the collar of my coat.

And You have counted me as clay; my portion in dust and ashes.

My wounds have become foul and corrupt, because of my foolishness.

For my soul is filled with mockings; and there is no health in my flesh.

From the feet to the head, there is no soundness in them; neither wound, nor bruise, nor festering ulcer [are healed]; it is not possible to apply a plaister, nor oil, nor bandages.

Your glory has come down to Hades, and your great mirth; under you they shall spread corruption, and the worm shall be your covering.

Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And becoming eaten by worms, he died.

You had thoroughly plunged me in filth, and my garment has abhorred me.

And they shall go forth, and see the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against Me; for their worm shall not die, and their fire shall not be quenched; and they shall be a spectacle to all flesh.

And you shall there remember your ways, and your devices in which you defiled yourselves; and you shall bewail yourselves for all your wickedness.
