And her nobles have sent their little ones to the water: they came to the wells, and found no water: and brought back their vessels empty.

And the labors of the land failed, because there was no rain: the plowmen were ashamed; they covered their heads.

O Lord, the hope of Israel, let all that have left You be ashamed, let them that have revolted be written on the earth, because they have forsaken the fountain of life, the Lord.

And hope does not put to shame, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Just as it is written: "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and rock of offense, and everyone believing on Him will not be put to shame."
