In the day darkness shall come upon them, and let them grope in the noonday even as in the night.

But the light of the ungodly shall be quenched, and their flame shall not go up.

Let [one] drive him from light into darkness.

And the Lord said to Moses, Stretch out your hand toward heaven, and let there be darkness over the land of Egypt- darkness that may be felt.

And for three days no man saw his brother, and no man rose up from his bed for three days. But all the children of Israel had light in all the places where they were.

And they came down to him; and he prayed to the Lord, and said, Strike this people, I pray, with blindness. And He struck them with blindness, according to the word of Elisha.

But the ways of the ungodly are like darkness; they know not how they stumble.

And famine shall come sorely upon you, and it shall come to pass, [that] when you shall be hungry, you shall be grieved, and you shall speak evil of the prince and of your fathers' ordinances; and they shall look up to heaven above,

and they shall look on the earth below, and behold severe distress, and darkness, affliction, and anguish, and darkness so that [no one] can see; and he that is in anguish shall not be distressed only for a season.

Give glory to the Lord your God, before He causes darkness, and before your feet stumble on the dark mountains, and you shall wait for light, and behold the shadow of death, and they shall be brought into darkness.

[he] said, "O full of all guile and all craft, [you] son of [the] devil, [you] enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord?

And now behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a season." And immediately a mistiness and darkness fell upon him, and going about, he sought someone to lead him by the hand.

Break the arm of the sinner and wicked man: his sin shall be sought for, and shall not be found.

For the arms of sinners shall be broken; but the Lord supports the righteous.

Therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and I will break his strong and outstretched arms, and I will strike down his sword from out of his hand.
