[ 24:5] And the men of David said to him, Behold, this is the day of which the Lord spoke to you, that He would deliver your enemy into your hands; and you shall do to him as it is good in your sight. So David arose and cut off the skirt of Saul's garment secretly.

[ 24:11] Behold, your eyes have seen this day how that the Lord has delivered you into my hands in the cave. And I would not kill you, but I spared you, and said, I will not lift up my hand against my master, for he is the Lord's anointed.

And Abishai said to David, The Lord has delivered your enemy into your hands this day, and now I will strike him to the earth with this spear, once [for all], and I will not have to strike him again.

Then Abishai the son of Zeruiah said to the king, Why does this dead dog curse my lord the king? Let me go over now and take off his head!

And the king said, What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? Let him alone, and so let him curse, for the Lord has told him to curse David: and who shall say, Why have you done thus?

But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered and said, Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the Lord's anointed?

And David said, What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah, that you lie in wait against me this day? Today no man in Israel shall be put to death, for I know not this day if I reign over Israel.

And Johanan said to Gedaliah secretly in Mizpah, I will go now and kill Ishmael, and let no man know [it]; lest he kill you, and all the Jews that are gathered to you be dispersed, and the remnant of Judah perish.

But Gedaliah said to Johanan, Do not do this thing, for you speak lies concerning Ishmael.

And when they saw this, James and John His disciples said, "Lord, do You wish [that] we should call down fire from heaven and consume them, as Elijah did?"

But turning, He rebuked them, and said, "You do not know of what sort of spirit you are.

And a certain one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear.

But Jesus answered and said, "Stop right there." And touching his ear, He healed him.

Why do you persecute me as also the Lord [does], and are not satisfied with my flesh?

When evildoers drew near against me to eat up my flesh, my persecutors and my enemies, they fainted and fell.

Let them not say in their hearts, Aha, aha, [it is pleasing] to our soul; neither let them say, We have devoured him.

If they should exhort you, saying, Come with us, partake in blood, and let us unjustly hide the just man in the earth:

and let us swallow him alive, as Hades would, and remove the memorial of him from the earth:

For they that are concerned in murder store up evils for themselves; and the overthrow of transgressors is evil.

Who hate good, and seek evil; who tear their skins off them, and their flesh off their bones:

even as they devoured the flesh of My people, and stripped their skins off them, and broke their bones, and divided [them] as flesh for the caldron, and as meat for the pot,
