And Elisha returned to Gilgal. And a famine [was] in the land; and the sons of the prophets sat before him. And Elisha said to his servant, Set on the great pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.

And he went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a vine in the field, and gathered of it wild gourds, and filled his garment; and he cast them into the caldron of stew, for they knew not what they were.

And Amos answered, and said to Amaziah, I was not a prophet, nor the son of a prophet; but I was a sheepbreeder, and a gatherer of sycamore fruits.

And he was longing to fill his stomach with the carob pods which the swine were eating, and no one gave him anything.
